- in 1939 moved to Switzerland with his family
- from 1946 onwards attended evening courses in drawing at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Lausanne
- from 1972 until 1987 worked in a studio of his own in the Provence
- in 1973 became a member of the 'Société des peintres, sculpteurs et architectes suisses'.
