- took her first painting lessons with Ferdinand Gehr
- at age of 18 enrolled at the Heatherley School of Art, London
- continued her education in New York under the tutelage of Franz Kline
- attended courses in set designing at Columbia University
- upon her return to Europe enrolled at the Ecole National Supérieure des Beaux-Arts
- since 1957 she has been mostly living in Paris, where she works in Man Ray's former studio
